Residents across the region will be without power on Sunday.

The entire City of Kenora, the entire City of Dryden, and residents in the Jaffray Mellick, Redditt, Pellatt, Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls, Minaki, Dalles First Nation, Van Horne, Southworth, Zealand, Melgund, Wabigoon First Nation, Wainwright, Brownridge, Bitton, and Rowell areas will all be without power for periods on Sunday.

The City of Kenora and outlying areas will be without power for three hours from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. The outages in the City of Dryden and outlying areas will be taking place between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Kenora Hydro and Hydro One are performing maintenance on their high-voltage grid system, which will interrupt the supply of electricity to customers throughout the region.

Hydro One reminds all members of the public to always stay clear of downed power lines or equipment, and to never assume that they are safe to approach.
