Yesterday afternoon’s racing at Lake of the Woods Speedway was a great display of door-to-door stock car action for the final event at the track this year.
The sold-out crowd and fans watching on pay-per-view got more than their money’s worth.
In the Q104 WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Glen Strachan took the feature race. Other winners included Alex Mira in the WISSOTA Pure Stocks, Rick Delaine in the WISSOTA Modifieds, plus Dustin Alcock from Kenora, who won the first two races of his career in the 4-Cylinder class.
President of Kenora Motorsports Entertainment, Anthony Leek, reflects on this racing season.
"It was a great year. It was great to have fans back. It was great to have so many more new locals, especially in the 4-cylinders class. It was a great program all summer long. I'm really proud of everybody from the volunteers, the sponsors, the drivers, the local community. It means a lot to me, it means a lot to all of us to see Lake of the Woods Speedway really start to blossom into something great," said Leek.
Drivers have two more weekends until the end of the year. A three-day event next weekend at the new DQ Speedway and the final racing of the year at Victory Lane Speedway in Winnipeg, the following weekend.
