Winter is here.
Throughout the region, drivers are dealing with slick conditions as a mix of rain and snow came across the area.
Peter Kimbell, Meterologist with Environment Canada, spoke about today’s storm.
“Winter has begun in the northwest. There is a snowfall warning in effect, 10 – 15 centimetres is what we’re expecting, we’ve already had a few centimetres and it probably won’t end until this evening. The good news is that it’s wet, and the roads could be worse if it was colder,” he said.
For the weekend, Kimbell gave residents some good news.
“The weekend looks pretty good. Cool temperatures continuing through Saturday, low of minus one. Some of the snow should melt. The good news, is that Sunday has a high of plus 5, with a chance of rain or flurries. No significant snow expected for the weekend,” he said.
School buses were cancelled this morning across the district due to the snowfall warning.
