The Kenora Under 18 AAA Thistles are back home after a tough loss in Winnipeg. The Thistles took on the Bruins yesterday in a close game throughout, but ultimately lost in overtime 5-4. James Sinclair was between the pipes for Kenora.

The T.A Saints got yet another sweep in NorWOSSA action. The Saints hosted the Ignace Falcons where the Senior Girls' Basketball team won 33-20. The Senior and Junior Boys' Volleyball teams each took their matches in three straight sets.

The Toronto Blue Jays will have the day off today as the team looks ahead to the opening game of its wild-card series against the Seattle Mariners tomorrow. The Blue Jays announced that all-star Alek Manoah will be the starter in the team's playoff opener.

The Winnipeg Jets dominated the Calgary Flames en route to a 5-0 victory in pre-season play last night. Elsewhere, the Canucks beat the Oilers 5-4.

The Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators meet tonight in Gander, Newfoundland. The Habs are winless in six starts, while Ottawa is 3-and-3. The Sens topped the Canadiens 5-4 on Tuesday in Montreal.

A day after its parliamentary hearings where Hockey Canada continued to oppose calls for its leadership to resign, other organizations took action yesterday.

Tim Hortons pulled sponsorship from all of the organization's men's programming this season, including the world juniors. Scotiabank has reportedly done the same, as has Telus.

Hockey Quebec stated it has lost confidence in Hockey Canada and will not be transferring funds to the sporting body. The Ontario Hockey Federation has also asked Hockey Canada to not collect the participant assessment fee from its members for this coming season.
