A 40-year-old Lac Seul resident is facing two counts of arson charges following an investigation. 

According to the Lac Seul Police Service, on Saturday, December 4, 2021 a home in Frenchman’s Head was set on fire with gasoline. Later in the evening a local business in Frenchman’s Head was also set on fire with gasoline. Damage was minimal and no injuries were reported.

As a result, Scotty Trout of Lac Seul First Nation was charged with two counts of: Arson - Disregard for Human Life contrary to 433(a) of the Criminal Code.
