The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are back on the ice for two games this weekend against Northwestern Ontario rivals.

Their weekend begins tonight (September 24, 2021) when the Ice Dogs travel to Fort Frances to take on the Lakers. This game is a rematch of Dryden’s home opener a week ago when they shut out the Lakers 4-0.

The game was scoreless going into the second period when the Dogs exploded for 3 goals in a span of four minutes.

The Lakers will be looking for their first win of the season.

On Saturday the Ice Dogs will be at home to welcome the Thunder Bay North Stars for the team's Truth and Reconciliation Game.

This will be the first time since the 2019-2020 season the two clubs have met. In that season the Dogs had a 4-6 record against the North Stars, being outscored 43-42 in those 10 games.

The North Stars are on a three-game road trip playing three games in three nights. Their first being last night in a big 5-4 win against the Red Lake Miners.

The puck drop for both games will be at 7:30 p.m.

On the season Dryden is currently 1-1-0-0 and sits fourth in the league with two points.
