Human trafficking investigation by T3PS, OPP leads to an arrest

A Grassy Narrows First Nation resident is facing a number of charges related to human trafficking.

On April 9, 2022, Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS), and OPP investigators within the Provincial Anti-Human Trafficking Intelligence-led Joint Force (IJFS) arrested a 32-year-old male resident of Grassy Narrows. The name of the accused is withheld to protect the identity of the victim by the police.

The accused party will appear in court on the following charges under the Criminal Code:

- CC 279.01 Trafficking in Persons

- CC 286.3(1) Procuring

- CC 245 Administer Noxious Thing

- CC 286.3(1) Material Benefit from Sexual Services
