Dryden’s newest attraction, the Sunset Drive-in Theatre, will be reopening this weekend!
“We bought the property this May, and really had no idea we would run a drive-in again. We bought the property to build a home and retire, but we got the bug and we started it up again!” said owner Cathy Langlais, who runs the drive-in with her husband Mike Langlais.
The Langlais family originally opened their ‘field of dreams drive-in’ in 1978-79 across from their family’s home, before they sold the property to another couple. The drive-in closed down under the other couple, but the Langlais family has now repurchased and re-purposed the property.
Tonight, the drive-in will be showing Black Panther. Tomorrow will be the Empire Strikes Back, and Jurassic Park will air on Sunday.
The drive-in is open Thursdays through Sundays at 1418 Johnston Road South. It’s the field with the big screen! Gates open at 8 p.m., and movies start at dusk. The concession stand will be open, and will accept cash, credit and debit.
You’re asked to call 807-937-5192 for updated information on the movies. Social distancing is in effect.
