It’s been an unusual few days in the Kenora community, as emergency workers continue to respond to a number of fires in the community, both small and large.

The latest was a small bush fire near Seven Generations Education Institute on Veteran’s Drive, which the OPP says was extinguished by members of the Kenora Fire and Emergency Service shortly before 1 p.m. this afternoon.

An investigation into the cause of the fire continues, as does investigations into the cause of Monday night’s Hungry Pug Cafe fire, a newspaper box being lit up on Fifth Street South, a tree in the Days Inn area and the bed of a pick-up truck on Highway 17, as well as a fire in the restroom at Garrow Park on Sunday.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Kenora OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
