Officers with the Dryden OPP have located and charged 19-year-old Nashawn Trevel Beals of Toronto, after he was wanted in connection with a suspicious death in Dryden last month.
The OPP began their investigation on March 16 after officers responded to a person in medical distress on Dingwall Parkway. When officers arrived, an unconscious person was being treated by Northwest EMS paramedics before being transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
The deceased was later identified as 30-year-old Kara-Lynn Pushie of Dryden. A post-mortem examination was conducted on March 17 to determine her cause of death, but the results are not being released at this time.
As a result of the OPP’s investigation, 34-year-old Shaun Lucas Marco Capovilla of Dryden, was arrested and charged on March 25. He’s currently facing charges of:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – methamphetamine,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – cocaine,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – fentanyl,
- Fail to comply with a Probation Order,
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose,
- Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – cocaine,
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order,
But a second arrest warrant was issued for 19-year-old Nashawn Trevel Beals of Toronto. The OPP said there were no concerns for public safety, but warned residents to not approach the suspect.
Now, police say Beals was arrested five days ago on April 21 by members of the Thunder Bay Police Service. He’s now facing a number of charges, including:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – methamphetamine,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – cocaine,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking,
- Fail to comply with a Release Order,
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose,
- Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – cocaine,
- Obstructing Justice,
The accused has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in courts on April 26 and 27.
